Dr Sioned Pearce is a Lecturer in Social Policy at the School of Social Sciences, Cardiff University. Her research centres on street-level interactions between frontline workers delivering devolved employment programmes and frontline workers delivering centralised, UK social security, specifically in JobCentre Plus. Her research examines the way in which devolution is reshaping employment-related provision in cross-jurisdictional welfare spaces across the UK (Pearce and Narayan 2025; Pearce 2025; Pearce 2025; Pearce and Lagana 2023). She examines the design and delivery of devolved employment programmes alongside social security and spatial inequalities within territorially defined places with a particular focus on civil society and the impacts for marginalised groups such as young people and sanctuary seekers.
